Happy Tuesday! I'm forgetting all about yesterday because well, it was a Monday. Let's just say I was frantically shampooing my carpets after a sick dog because our house is on the market and there could be a showing at any time! The gratitude in that? The carpets were cleaned just in the time for the new owners.
Over the weekend my family and I went to the Cottonwood Art Festival. It's a local festival in the spring and fall that showcases artists from all over the country. Every medium was represented and I found myself wanting to go home instantly and start creating. The festival is for the entire family, which I love. They have a children's area that gives kids an opportunity to be an artist themselves. Painting, clay making, collage and more was available. P's favorite was painting. Even after his entire canvas was full of paint, he wanted to stay and keep painting.
For quite some time I've been missing my creative side. When I had P I put up my art supplies and haven't seen them since. If you are not familiar with my old blog, I used to bind books, make greeting cards, and art journal, as well as dabble in a few other creative projects. It was an outlet for me and I didn't realize how much of a gap it has left in my life until I saw all the beautiful art on display over the weekend. So much of my joy is derived from being creative, even if I don't do anything with the finished product. The desire was strong to get back to it, and there was a clear message that my son is the perfect little artist to join me. So I'm vowing that when we move to the new house, which has a dedicated space to make art, I will be setting up our studio. It's time to get back to the things I enjoy. What about you? What are you missing in your life?
On another note, I also had a realization that part of my joy and creativity is offered in this space. For some time I've put limits on what this blog should or shouldn't be. Those limitations have never felt quite right and many times they have created writers block. A self induced block. A large part of my rich, abundant and wild life is sharing it with you. Both to inspire you, and create a record for myself. That being said, you will start to see more personal posts such as this, mixed in with my coaching posts. One rule of a RAW life is that there are no rules. I'm taking away the limitations and making this what I want it to be, which is more authentic. I hope you will stick around.
Say hi in the comments below. How have you been inspired lately?
