10.  Avoid plastic-ware
Easier said than done.  Disposable plastic-ware is found everywhere these days.  It's convenient and hardly thought about anymore.  Plastic silverware, water bottles, to-go cups, Rubbermaid containers, and plates are all examples of products to avoid today.  Think about your meals and either bring your own in glass containers or paper products, or eat in a restaurant to avoid the take out trash.  If you drink water throughout the day, at least use a reusable plastic bottle and refill it or purchase a glass bottle

Some could argue that reusing plastic ware is a good practice, but the reality it is, the chemicals break down over time and leach into your food and water.  The best practice is to avoid it as much as possible.  If you have to use it, reuse it a few times and then recycle it.  Glassware can be found at garage or estates for an affordable price.  Over time, start to replace your plastic-ware.  You'll be healthier for it.
